The Circle Game

The basic objective is to trick your opponent into looking at a circle made below your waist.
  • OFFENSE
    • The Circle is formed by your thumb and forefinger, like an A-Okay sign.
      • Like this:(See, now I just gotcha)
      • Not like this:
    • The circle should be placed on your person (e.g. pants leg), as in, "Oh my, I have a nasty spot on my pants."
      • VARIANT: If agreed upon by players beforehand or in certain regions, players may need only break the plane of their waist with their circle to lure opponents. 
    • Here's the KEY:
      • You must direct the defender's gaze to your circle
      • Putting your circle into the defender's line of sight does not count (you cheater)
        • For example, you can't walk in front of the television and trick a whole room of people (you jerk)
  • REWARD
    • You may punch the person on their forearm or other responsible body part.
    • Advice: punch softly, as per the Golden Rule of Stupid Games
    • The reward is in emotional pain, not physical pain (i.e. the satisfaction of duping your friend).
  • DEFENSE
    • Avoid looking directly at the offender's circle.
    • Only a direct look at the offender's circle will result in victory.
    • In desperate situations, try holding your hand beneath your nose:
      • like so, 
      • not like ...
  • COUNTER-OFFENSE
    • Breaking the Circle:
      • Whether you have seen the offender's circle or not, you may attempt to break their circle.
        • Breaking your opponent's circle has the effect of reversing the punch.
        • After you have broken your opponent's circle, you may punch them, also according to the Golden Rule of Stupid Games.
      • How do you Break the Circle?
        • The object is to break your opponent's circle quickly, deftly, and with accuracy.
        • Wrestling your opponent to the ground is NOT the object, though it may be appropriate depending on the circumstances.
        • Measure your aggressiveness prudentially.
      • If the counter-offender should fail to break the circle, he/she is to be punched (see above for appropriate punching protocol).
    • Perhaps the most satisfying counter-offensive move, however, is anticipating the offender's ruse and saying, "I'm not looking at that, you silly."
  • COUNTER-DEFENSE
    • This is a rare continuation of the Circle Game.
    • A counter-defender may defeat the counter-offender by clenching their circle around their opponent's circle-breaking finger(s) before the breaking of their circle

  • PROXY PUNCHING
    • It may be possible to award a punch privilege to another player.
    • When deciding whether or not this is to be allowed, it is sportsmanlike for the puncher and/or proxy-puncher to request permission of the punchee, as per the Golden Rule of Stupid Games.

  • His goal is to trick another person into looking at his hand. If the Victim looks at the hand, he has lost the game, and is subsequently hit on the bicep with a closed fist, by the offensive player.
